What is an EPC?

Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) are required for any property that is either sold or rented*. The certificate is valid for 10 years.

EPC ratings are alphabetical with ‘A’ for the the most energy efficient and ‘G’ for the the lowest. With fuel bills rising and environmental concerns it pays to be aware of energy ratings and what they mean.

*There are exceptions such as listed buildings or properties built after 6th April 2008.
